Edge of Tomorrow Movie Quotes
"Edge of Tomorrow" movie quotes follow the action in this alien invasion movie. Based on the Japanese novel "All You Need Is Kill" by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, the film was written by Christopher McQuarrie, Jez Butterworth, and John-Henry Butterworth and directed by Doug Liman. "Edge of Tomorrow" opened in the United States on June 6, 2014.

In "Edge of Tomorrow," military Major William Cage (Tom Cruise) inexplicably finds himself among fresh recruits fighting on the front lines in a combat mission against an alien race, which has invaded Earth. Within minutes, Cage and the entire military unit is wiped out by the vastly superior aliens. Somehow though, after his death, Cage wakes up the next morning at the beginning of that same day.

Cage learns that he is repeating the same day over and over again. While each day he dies, he does learn more about the enemy and how to defeat it each day. Along the way, he also makes friends with Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt) who seems to know that they are repeating this day. Together, they train for, plan and strategize on defeating the alien race, which hopefully will end this loop of reaching the edge of tomorrow repeatedly.

"Edge of Tomorrow" opened in theaters buzzing following Memorial Day 2014 openings including "A Million Ways to Die in the West," "Maleficent," "Night Moves," "Filth," "Blended," "X-Men: Days of Future Past," "The Immigrant," "The Love Punch, "The Angriest Man in Brooklyn, "Million Dollar Arm," "Godzilla," "Palo Alto," "Chef," "Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return Movie Quotes," "Neighbors," "Moms' Night Out," "Devil's Knot," "Belle," "Walk of Shame," and "The Amazing Spider-Man 2."

What Does It Matter What Happens to Me?
Bill Cage: "No matter what I do, this is as far as you go."
Rita Vrataski: "What does it matter what happens to me?"

Bill Cage tries to protect Rita Vrataski from inevitable death. She sees her death as a given, but he sees a way for them both to survive.
I Need Your Help
Rita Vrataski: "I need your help."
Bill Cage: "With what exactly?"
Rita Vrataski: "Winning the war"

When Rita Vrataski asks Bill Cage for help in winning the war, he sees this as an impossible outcome. How the heck can they win a war against an enemy that wipes them out in a matter of minutes?
What Day Is It?
Bill Cage: "What day is it?"
General Farrell Bartolome: "Judgement day. You just came in with the fresh recruits."

Bill Cage is confused after he wakes up and is deployed like a green soldier. The Major has quite a bit more rank than the average brand new soldier but oddly finds himself on the front lines.
You're a Weapon
Bill Cage: "I'm not a soldier."
Rita Vrataski: "Of you're course not. You're a weapon."

Bill Cage is quite out of his element on the battlefield. To make things worse, he's fighting an alien race for which the world's military is no match. He does however, have a secret weapon; he just needs to use it.
Come Find Me When You Wake Up
Rita Vrataski: "Come find me when you wake up!"

Just before she's killed, Rita Vrataski tells Bill Cage to come find her when he wakes up. Considering they're both about to die, this is quite an odd statement for her to make. It's almost as if she knows something he doesn't know.
I Live the Same Day Over and Over Again
Bill Cage: "I live the same day over and over again."

Bill Cage gives a basic overview of the film. He lives the same day over and over, kind of like a "Groundhog Day" with an alien invasion thrown in there.
You Have to Die, Everyday
Bill Cage: "You do know what's happening to me."
Rita Vrataski: "What happened to you happened to me. You hijacked their power."
Bill Cage: "How do I control it?"
Rita Vrataski: "You have to die, everyday. Keep coming here and I'll train you."

Bill Cage confronts Rita Vrataski to ask if she knows he is reliving the same day over and over. She does indeed and knows that if he plays this right, he can change the outcome of that day. That however will require him dying over and over until he gets it right.
This Isn't the First Time That We've Had This Conversation
Bill Cage: "What I am about to tell you sounds crazy. But you have to listen to me. Your very lives depend on it. You see, this isn't the first time that we've had this conversation. The invasion will fail along with every soldier you are sending. We lose everything."

Bill Cage addresses his fellow military members, or tries to because his story is a bit hard to believe. Cage has seen the future and is reliving the present over and over but he can use that to their benefit. Frankly, they don't have many other great options.
