She agrees and travels back in time to take care of her own unresolved life issues too, but together, both the Unmarried Mother and the Temporal Agent find out things about themselves that they never expected.

It Can Be Overwhelming, Knowing the Future
The Bartender: “By the time you will listen to this seven years will have passed. Here you are, at the beginning of your new life. It can be overwhelming, knowing the future.”
The Bartender leaves an audio recording to be listened to seven years later. He stresses how difficult it can be to travel through time knowing what the future holds. It can mess with one’s perspective and head in general.

The Bartender puts an interesting offer on the table for The Unmarried Mother. If he could take her to a place and time where she could kill the man who ruined her life, would she go through with it?

The Bartender reveals his true identity as a Temperal Agent when he takes her back in time to 1963. In his efforts to recruit The Unmarried Mother to join their squad as he retires, he uses this time shift to prove to her that this job is legit.

Mr. Robertson: “You’re a gift given to the world through a predestination paradox. You’re the only one. You’re going to save millions of lives.”
Mr. Robertson explains how important The Bartender is to their mission and how special he is to the big picture. Without him, everything could fall apart and millions could die, not that there’s any pressure or anything.
You Must Complete Your Mission
Mr. Robertson: “You must complete your mission. You must lay the seeds for the future. You’re here to influence history and worlds to come.”
The Bartender: “Time catches up with us all.”
Mr. Robertson: “The path you’re on will take you to your destination.”
As The Bartender is losing faith in what he is doing, Mr. Robertson reminds him of just how important he is and what he is doing to the history of the world. The Bartender needs to follow his path and if he does, it will lead him to where he needs to go.
Truth is Stranger Than Fiction
News Reporter: “Many New Yorkers are leaving the city in fear of a fifth attack by the Fizzle Bomber.”

As the news reports on the killings of the Fizzle Bomber, The Unmarried Mother and The Bartender discuss their thoughts on the matter and life in general. He has some stories he could tell and he doesn’t mean ones he experienced at the bar.

The Bartender: “You can do this. You have skills you’ve never had the chance to use and I can give you that chance.”
The Unmarried Mother: “I get to be a Temporal Agent?”
The Bartender: “If you prove yourself”
The Unmarried Mother: “Do I have a choice?”
The Bartender: “You always have a choice.”
The Bartender is recruiting The Unmarried Mother to join him as a Temperal Agent as he prepares for retirement. He sees something in her that has potential and hopes that she will decide to use those skills for good.

The Unmarried Mother: “You're not how I imagined you'd look.”
Jane: “Do I know you?”
The Unmarried Mother: “You're beautiful. Someone should have told you that.”
Jane: “Well, you just did.”
The Unmarried Mother travels back in time to meet her younger self, Jane. She corrects a mistake that has long bothered her and tells Jane just how beautiful she really is.
