The Last Days on Mars Movie Quotes
"The Last Days on Mars" movie quotes feed the suspense in the science fiction thriller that explores what happens when a crew on Mars discovers a dangerous living biological agent. Ruairi Robinson directed the film which was adapted into a screenplay by Clive Dawson based on the short story of "The Animators" by Sydney J. Bounds. "The Last Day on Mars" opened in the United States starting on December 6, 2013.

In "The Last Days on Mars," a research crew is finishing up a six-month stay on Mars and prepare to return to Earth. During their final day, one scientist, Marko Petrovic (Goran Kostic) wishes to return to investigate a specific spot once more and devises a cover to leave the base. At the site, Marko discovers a living biological agent and suddenly is swallowed up into the sand below.

When the rest of the crew, including Vincent Campbell (Liev Schrieber), Richard Harrington (Tom Cullen) and Charles Brunel (Elias Koteas) head to retrieve Marko's body, they learn that Marko is still seemingly alive but his body has been taken over by this agent and is hell bent on killing the others. What follows is an every man for himself situation where they all must fight for survival until the rescue ship arrives with the ones who remain tasked with the tough choice between sacrificing their own lives of taking the chance of bringing this deadly biological agent back to Earth.

While "The Last Days on Mars" might not quite compete with other great space movies, such as the recently released "Gravity," it does join theaters already packed with other movies such as "Inside Llewyn Davis," "Out of the Furnace," "12 Years a Slave," "Frozen," "Oldboy," "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," "Delivery Man," "Nebraska," "Sunlight Jr.," "Last Vegas," "Ender's Game, "The Counselor," "Bad Grandpa," "Escape Plan," "The Fifth Estate," "Captain Phillips," "Don Jon," "Rush, "Prisoners," and "Riddick,".
The Last Days on Mars Movie Quotes,

We Can't Let This Get Back to Earth
Vincent Campbell: "We can't let this get back to Earth."

Thought it would mean his own certain death, Vincent remarks that under no circumstances can they let this strange martian biological agent reach Earth. Though he is not sure if he is infected, returning to Earth possibly carrying the agent could be incredibly deadly for those on the home planet.
Until We Fix Them, We're Trapped
Kim Aldrich: "Close it down. Until we fix them, we're trapped."
Rebecca Lane: "Somebody's going in."
Lauren Dalby: "It's infected his blood stream."

Kim, Rebecca and Lauren watch remotely as the bodies of their crew members, now infected and somewhat zombie-like, attack each other in another part of the base. They don't know how to save the men they once knew but know enough to stay far away from whatever may be going on.
Not What It Looks Like
Kim Aldrich: "It's definitely not what it looks like."
Charles Brunel: "Anyone want to tell me what's going on?"
Kim Aldrich: "I just want to know what's so urgent."

Charles Brunel: "I want that site locked down."

After Marko and Richard leave base on false pretenses to revisit an interesting plot of land, the remaining crew members grow suspicious and try to determine why they really left. As Kim soon learns, there is something very strange about that site, strange enough that Charles calls for the area to be locked down.
Need to Go Back Out Again
Mission Control: "Time check, final approach: 19 hours, 56 minutes."
Charles Brunel: "All right, copy that. It will be great to see you guys again."

Marko Petrovic: "I need to go back out again."
Charles Brunel: "Forget it. We need everyone on base."

Vincent Campbell: "Where are you guys going?"

As the crew enters their final hours on the mission, they are preparing to depart the planet of Mars to return to their orbiting craft and while Marko requests a return visit to a particularly interesting plot of land, Charles advises against anyone leaving the base. Despite the order to stay put, Marko and crewmate Richard Harrington head back to that site anyway.
You Have to See This
Marko Petrovic: "You have to see this."
Richard Harrington: "Marko! Oh my god."

Eager to find out more about the strange biological agent detected in a plot of land, Marko returns to the area to reveal that it contains life, not former life, but actual living right now life. No sooner is he swallowed up by the land while crewmate Richard looks on.
I'm Not Happy If You're Not Happy
Robert Irwin: "Are you cozy in there?"
Vincent Campbell: "Like a bug in a rug. You talk to Ella?"
Robert Irwin: "No, I missed the window."
Vincent Campbell: "Oh man, I'm sorry about that. I got uh, delayed."
Robert Irwin: "No mind, we'll get another chance back on Aurora. Hey, I come bearing gifts. You want some?"
Vincent Campbell: "Jesus christ."
Robert Irwin: "What's up?"
Vincent Campbell: "Half the CO2 scrubbers are down on Aurora. Check out this approach trajectory. These guys are going to get pulled over for drunk driving."
Robert Irwin: "Can't we at least get on board before you start worrying about the Aurora? Aren't you excited to go home?"
Vincent Campbell: "Home isn't the issue, it's the six months it takes to get there strapped to the back of a nuclear warhead that I'm worried about… What?"
Robert Irwin: "Are you all right?"
Vincent Campbell: "Come on, Irwin, can we please not do the whole analysis thing right now? I've got a lot of work to do."
Robert Irwin: "You know how it is. You're not happy if things aren't working. I'm not happy if you're not happy."
Vincent Campbell: "I'm happy. I'm ecstatic. See?"
Robert Irwin: "All right"
Vincent Campbell: "Happy, happy, happy"

While Irwin seems genuinely concerned about the welfare of his fellow crew member now, when things start to go awry, everyone, Irwin included, is forced to make tough choices between taking care of themselves or others.
There's Blood Everywhere
Charles Brunel: "What the hell happened down there?"
Vincent Campbell: "There's blood everywhere."

As Charles and Vincent return to the base, they are surprised to see what looks like a bloody crime scene. Their crew members are no longer alive and there's blood everywhere.
It's Definitely Alive
Vincent Campbell: "Take me down. My god, Harrington, you seeing this? I don't know what it is but it's definitely alive."
Richard Harrington: "There's footprints here. There's two pairs."
Kim Aldrich: "What the hell? They walked all the way back?"
Robert Irwin: "And now they're headed back towards base."

Robert Irwin: "Lane, do not open your bay doors! Repeat, do not open your bay doors!"

When the crew ventures out to see exactly what Marko was investigating, they find chilling surprises at the site where he disappeared. Among those discoveries are footprints, suggesting that Marko walked all the way back to the base. There is someone at the bay door however it certainly isn't the Marko they once knew.
