In Split, three teenage girls, Casey (Anya Taylor-Joy), Claire (Haley Lu Richardson) and Marcia (Jessica Sula) are sitting in a car in the middle of the day waiting for a parent to drive when a strange man, Kevin (James McAvoy) gets in. Kevin continues to abduct the girls and lock them in a furnished, windowless room. The girls think that if they band together, they can overpower Kevin and escape but soon they realize that it's not three against one, but three against Kevin's 24 personalities.
The teens are visited by Kevin's various personalities, including one who thinks she's a British woman and another who thinks he's a nine-year-old boy. Each seem to know why the girls are being held captive and talk about the last personality, the beast, who will kill them. To escape and survive, the girls must work with the different personalities to persuade one to help them flee before they end up hurt or worse.
